Description:
The Ur2rN mission is to provide a social community that is advertising free and open to all to browse whether you are a member or not. Through member participation, we wish to mirror your local community by providing local clubs where you can access local people, events, and resources. Our core belief is that people would rather search for information, goods, and such when they desire, and not be bombarded with advertisements as is standard practice online. Since we provide a 100% social site, we encourage you to also use our search engine (Ur2rN.info) to locate both Internet and local resources. The heart of our search engine are results from our classified directory featuring local and online businesses of our members giving search results a more personal feel. Unlike giant local search directories and many advertising programs, our directory is free. While we encourage businesses to be active sharing their knowledge on Ur2rN, in keeping with our "you'll search when you want" philosophy, we ask them not to solicit business to keep the overall Ur2rN experience social. Members ensure things keep on track by reporting Spam, providing feedback, and behaving themselves. We provide everything for Free, but you can help support us by getting your own .com domain name. For those that would like technical assistance using Ur2rN, we offer ridiculous cheap consulting for both individuals and businesses. See Ur2rN.biz to get your .com domain name or technical assistance.
Ur2rN Community Pillar Program
In order to help as many people as possible, we created the Community Pillar Program to provide opportunities to those that wish to be key players in the growth of Ur2rN. If you have basic technical skills and can envision how the platform we provide can be used in creative ways to engage members, and provide community functions all delivered at very reasonable consulting rates to those that desire a little technical help, then lets work together to make a better Internet. There are millions of Mom and Pop small businesses that should have the option of low cost website services. There are also millions of people that would enjoy having their own domain names. I'm not in this to get rich, that's why I'm offering to distribute the consulting services and provide the opportunity for you to help others. I heard a statistic that by 2010, 80 billion dollars will be spent on internet advertising. By getting everyone educated about Ur2rN, we can literally save good people Billions of dollars in wasted advertising, provide reasonable hosting services, and expand free services in the future. My goal isn't to become the next giant corporation, but to explode the balloon of those that are greedy by continuing to promote the Internet as something it isn't and won't ever be. I still say the Internet is like the 49' gold rush. The folks that profited the most sold the miners picks, shovels, supplies, and not the miners. Don't get me wrong, the Internet is fine for certain goods and services, but it's time to admit that the majority of those buying advertising are only fattening the giant corps and not striking gold. Nobody has taken the real Internet to the people, and that's what we're about.

I finally got working on the pillar program for the site. This will be reallly exciting once I go public. I really want everything in line before hitting the masses.

Favors
I keep spending more time doing favors for people. I'm not complaining, but it does slow one down. I've been getting great feedback on the site. Hope to get out in the local community and take up all the consulting gigs that folks have expressed interest in.

More later,
John
